On Tuesday, November 6, the voters of Washington’s 6th Congressional District overwhelmingly elected State Senator Derek Kilmer as their new Congressman.
As of noon of November 8, the most recent tally had Senator Kilmer receiving 133,034 votes, or a 58.77% share of the counted ballots.
In his election night statement, Senator Kilmer said:
Tonight’s results show that folks want a congressman who understands what struggling middle-class families and small businesses are going through and who will cut through the partisan gridlock to deliver real results to help them. I’m honored by their confidence in me to make that happen. We need to get people back to work and get Congress back to work, too.
